Bus - R8

The following information was correct at 17th April 2001.

Operated by Arriva the R8 service leaves Orpington High Street (Walnuts) every hour from 9:44 (8:44 Monday-Friday) through to 17:44 (18:44 Monday-Friday). The journey time is 13 minutes with a fare of 70p. Its route is via

  1. Orpington War Memorial
  2. Orpington Station
  3. Sevenoaks Road
  4. Charterhouse Road
  5. Court Road
  6. Chelsfield Village

The return journey leaves Chelsfield Village (Five Bells) every hour until 18:00 (19:00 Monday-Friday).

Car

The will be plenty of on-site parking.

There is a map of the Goose Fair Site which can be zoomed out and printed to show major roads in the area.

NOTE

The Goose Fair is being held in Chelsfield Village which is on the EAST side of the Orpington By-pass. Do NOT follow signs to Chelsfield or Chelsfield Station which are both on the west side of the Orpington By-pass.

From M25

  1. Leave the M25 at Junction 4
  2. Take the motorway spur road (signposted to Orpington) for 1 mile
  3. At the roundabout take the 4th exit on the A224 signposted to Orpington
  4. In 1.0 miles take the second right, Warren Road, and follow the signs for the car parks

Note:The first right turn, Church Road, (0.8 miles from the roundabout to Chelsfield Village will be CLOSED to traffic on July 22nd.

From Orpington

  1. Take the A224 (Orpington By-pass) south (Court Road) towards Sevenoaks
  2. The road speed limit will increase to 50mph
  3. After about half-a-mile, Chelsfield Village is clearly signposted on the left (Warren Road)
